At Gold Mountain Golf Club, we are committed to maintaining a beautiful, playable, and sustainable course for all golfers. As part of our ongoing efforts, we will be implementing a strategic tree removal plan in alignment with our Golf Course Master Plan.

Why is Tree Removal Necessary?

After careful evaluation with our golf course architect and the City of Bremerton, we have identified key benefits of selective tree removal:

  • Improved Turf Health – Removing trees that block sunlight and airflow will promote healthier grass, especially on greens, tees, and fairways.
  • Enhanced Playability – Clearing obstructive trees will restore intended shot angles and improve the course’s strategic design.
  • Safety & Maintenance Improvements – Removing diseased, damaged, or overgrown trees will reduce hazards and long-term maintenance costs.
  • Restoring Original Design Intent – Over time, tree growth has altered the course layout. Selective removal will help return the course to its intended design.
  • What to Expect

Project Timeline – Tree removal will begin in early Spring 2025 and is expected to be completed by Fall 2025.
Minimized Disruptions – Work will be scheduled during the off-season to reduce impacts on play.
Temporary Restrictions – Some areas may be restricted for safety during removal, with updates provided by the Golf Shop staff at check-in.
Landscaping & Replanting – After removal, we will landscape and selectively replant non-invasive species to maintain the course’s aesthetics and environmental balance.
